Pair accused in series of robberies arrested

HOUSTON – Two men accused of committing a series of robberies have been arrested.

The two men, Quinton Shelton and Alfred Robertson, are charged with felony theft and burglary of a motor vehicle.

Monday, Robertson watched customers at a northeast Houston area bank. According to police they watched a woman make a withdrawal and then get into her car.

From there police said Robertson went got back in his car with Shelton. They allegedly followed the woman as she left the bank and went to the Academy Sporting Goods store at I-10 and Uvalde.

The woman went into the Academy store and the two men parked next to her vehicle. That’s when police said Robertson removed the license plate from his vehicle. Shelton allegedly broke the woman’s car window while Robertson acted as a lookout.

Officers with the Houston Police Department’s Northeast Tactical Unit observed the vehicle burglary in progress and took the suspects into custody.

At the time of the arrest, Shelton was on bond for a 2015 charge of felon in possession of a firearm. Robertson was also out on bond at the time this arrest for a recent robbery related case.

These two suspects are believed to have committed numerous other thefts and robberies in the Houston and Pasadena areas, officials said.
