Police: Man posing as cop rapes person during fake traffic stop

A sketch was released Friday of a man who police said pretended to be a police officer and raped someone during a fake traffic stop earlier this year.

According to Crime Stoppers of Houston, the man stopped a vehicle about 3 a.m. April 2 in the 9900 block of Sugar Branch Drive.

During the stop, authorities said, the man forced the victim out of their vehicle, handcuffed them and placed them in the back seat of a police-type vehicle. The man then drove the victim to a secluded area and sexually assaulted them.

The man was described as black with a light complexion, muscular build, between 20 and 40 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing about 240 pounds.

The man was last seen driving a black Ford Crown Victoria with emergency lights on top, white lettering on the sides and a phone number on the back. 

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and charging of the person responsible.
