Woman pistol-whipped during attempted robbery

HARRIS COUNTY – Harris County deputies are looking for the gunmen who shot and killed a man Thursday morning during a home invasion in northwest Harris County.

Deputies said a neighbor called 911 around 2:50 a.m. to a home on Alpine Vale Court.

Deputies found a man shot to death inside the home.

According to investigators, three men beat on the door of the house claiming to be the police. The family woke up and before they could get to the door, they heard gunshots and someone kicking in the door, police said.

Once inside the home, the trio demanded money from the man, Javier Alonso, 35, and his wife, police said. When the couple couldn't produce the cash, the home invaders shot Alonso to death and pistol-whipped his wife, they said.

Police said three children, ages 2, 9 and a 13-year old with autism, were inside the home at the time. They were not hurt.
