Man sent sexual videos of La Porte student to school board to embarrass her, police say

HOUSTON – A man was arrested after police said he sent sexually explicit photos and videos of a student to members of the La Porte Independent School District board last month.

Darius Jay Mitchell, 18, was charged with improper photography or visual recording in connection with the case.

According to court documents, all seven members of the board received the pornographic emails early Nov. 13. The name of the person in the 17 videos and 25 pictures was included in the subject line and was identified as a La Porte ISD student.

Investigators talked to the student, who is 19 years old, and she said that the images and video were recorded with her permission and that she was an adult when they were recorded, according to the documents. She said Mitchell had also posted them on her Facebook page but later removed them.

Police also interviewed Mitchell, who admitted to sending the emails, according to the documents. He told detectives that he sent the emails in an effort to embarrass the woman.
