HOUSTON – One of the four men charged in the killing of a customer at a Houston-area Denny’s restaurant three years ago was sentenced to 50 years in prison Wednesday.

Leroy Houston, 21, pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the case during his trial Wednesday.

Police said that in August 2013, Houston and three other people stormed into the restaurant on Washington Street near Interstate 10. They ordered everyone to the ground, fired shots and fled with cash.

During the robbery, a patron was killed and an employee was wounded.
