Man accused of stabbing woman, breaking her arm sought

Police say man attempted to sexually assault her

HOUSTON – Authorities are asking for the public's help finding a man accused of stabbing a woman and breaking her arm while attempting to sexually assault her, police said.

The man stabbed the victim multiple times at her home in the 10400 block of Mayfield Road in Houston after 7 a.m. Jan. 11, according to Crime Stoppers of Houston.

Police said the victim knows the suspect, who goes by the name of Luis Noe Vargas-Lopez and Luiser Vargas-Lopez.

Vargas-Lopez was living at her home for several months prior to the incident. Authorities said while he was attempting to sexually assault her, Vargas-Lopez stabbed the victim multiple times in the face and neck.

Vargas-Lopez then broke the victim's arm and fled in an unknown direction of travel, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was in surgery for her severe injuries.

Police described the suspect as a 19-year-old Honduran Hispanic male who works construction in the area, is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds and has tattoos on his right arm and back.
