Man accused of practicing dentistry without license, HPD says

HOUSTON – An undercover operation by the Houston Police Major Offenders squad resulted in the arrest of a man who was practicing dentistry without a license, according to police.

Jose Elias Meraz-Sanchez, 34, was charged with unlawful practice of dentistry, a felony, on March 1.

His bond was set at $35,000.

Meraz-Sanchez was operating a dentistry in a trailer at 10813 Ell Road, according to authorities.

Investigators began the case in February.

An undercover officer was sent into the trailer that Meraz-Sanchez was using as an office, police said.

The officer was given a diagnosis and a price, police said.

Meraz-Sanchez was then arrested.
