Investigators said McAfee approached the 16-year-old around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 15 as she was walking on a sidewalk. He identified himself as a member of law enforcement and told her to get into his car, deputies said. He told the girl he was taking her to the police station for breaking curfew.

The girl told investigators he took her under the overpass of Highway 90 where the San Jacinto River passes under the freeway. She said he forced her to have sex with him.
