Man accused of leaving girl, 2, in hot car

HOUSTON – A man was arrested Saturday after he left a 2-year-old girl alone inside a hot car, deputy constables said.

The incident happened at an Academy Sports + Outdoors in the 28600 block of Highway 290.

According to deputy constables, authorities were called to the scene by people who had broken into a car and removed a young child that had been left inside. Witnesses said the girl was crying and profusely sweating.

After witnesses removed the girl from the car, Estacey Tillison came outside and tried to leave with the child, deputy constables said. Witnesses kept him from leaving.

Deputy constables said an investigation revealed that Tillison had left the girl in the car for 31 minutes before witnesses intervened.

Tillison was charged with endangering a child.
