License of vet who killed cat with arrow suspended

HOUSTON – The Brenham veterinarian who posted a photo of a dead cat with an arrow in its head online had her license suspended Tuesday.

Kristen Lindsey made national news after she posted a picture on Facebook, claiming she killed the cat with a bow and arrow.

“My first bow kill. Lol,” the caption on the photo read. “The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head! Vet of the year award... Greatly appreciated.”

The owner of the clinic where Lindsey worked said he fired her after he learned of the post.

Ultimately, no criminal charges were filed against Lindsey in connection with the case. However, the state veterinary board ordered a review of the case.

On Tuesday, the board ruled that Lindsey’s license be suspended for five years. She is not allowed to work as a veterinarian for the first year and must practice under state supervision for the remaining four years.

Most recently, Lindsey was in court for a hearing about a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Police said Lindsey was arrested in March after she crashed into a curb. Investigators said that before the crash she nearly hit an off-duty Harris County deputy constable.
