Kentucky's coach Calipari surprises local teen during recruiting visit

KATY, Texas – He's a die-hard University of Kentucky basketball fan and his gear shows it.

Seth Barnett's mother Carol Barnett said, "He loves basketball. And he has loved basketball since he was very young."

Seth , 16, has cerebral palsy and is in a special needs program at Cypress Lakes High School.

It also happens to be where the No. 1 point guard recruit in the country plays basketball, De'Aaron Fox.

"It's surreal," Fox said. "But I've gotten used to it, it's like a part of life at this point."

So on Monday , when the Wildcats head coach John Calipari and others from coaching staff were in town to recruit Fox, he also had a little extra company.

"De'Aaron thought it would be a good idea if Seth met coach Calipari," Barnett said.

"Just being able to be that bridge to bring two people together, it felt amazing," Fox said.

Barnett had one of his Kentucky jackets signed by the coaches and they even gave him a jersey.

More than just an autograph or memorabilia, this lucky fan now has the pictures and memory to last a lifetime.

"It's probably the best feeling I've ever had in my life. I've never got to help someone out like that," Fox said.

"It was awesome," Barnett said. Amazing. Like a dream of a lifetime for Seth."
