Justin Bieber sued by Houston man who claims singer destroyed his phone after beer bong stunt

HOUSTON – Justin Bieber is the subject of a lawsuit filed by a Houston man who claims the pop star destroyed his smart phone after a beer bong chugging stunt.

Robert Earl Morgan said he was at the club Cle on April 9 when Bieber, whom the lawsuit describes as "a Canadian singer and songwriter who is infamous for his reckless behavior and numerous run-ins with the law," decided to chug beer from a beer bong, but spilled the brew all over himself.

Morgan was recording the incident through the Snapchat app on his smart phone when Bieber noticed and scolded him, the lawsuit claims. Bieber allegedly grabbed the phone and smashed it into pieces, then had his security detail remove Morgan from the club.

“We had Justin Bieber here after his concert and he was having a great time at Cle and brought his whole staff,” said manager Eddie Massa.

After the club closed, Morgan said he went back inside with the assistance of club staff but could not find the SIM card for his phone.

The lawsuit says Morgan had to buy out his phone contract in order to purchase a new phone, and that he lost business contacts, messages, photos and videos, including images from his grandmother's 100th birthday party. He also claims that the loss of the phone has affected his business.

The suit seeks damages of no more than $100,000.

We reached out to Morgan, his attorney and Bieber's publicist. On Wednesday, no one returned our phone call.

“Justin Bieber was having a good time and that's all we know," Massa said. “I personally didn't see it, no one from our staff saw him break the phone.”
