HPD: Armed robber caught on video stealing victim's car, wallet

HOUSTON – Houston Police Department officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a man accused of robbing a person at gun point Thursday in southwest Houston. 

The Houston Police Department said the victim came to his townhome in the 8300 block of Leamont Drive around 4:30 p.m. and parked his vehicle. He was removing groceries from the back seat of his car when a man armed with a handgun approached him, officials said.

Investigators said the suspected robber is an African-America man in his 20s to 30s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 170 to 200 pounds. Officers said he was wearing a distinctive multi-colored striped shirt, dark pants and blue and white tennis shoes.

The man pointed the gun at the victim and demanded his car key’s and money from his wallet, investigators said.

Police said the man drove the victim’s vehicle around for a while before leaving the area on foot.
