Deputy shoots at suspect after chase

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man is facing felony charges after a deputy-involved chase in Greenspoint that ended with a deputy shooting at the suspect.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, a deputy driving down Greens Road saw a man and woman arguing in a parking lot around 9:15 Saturday night.

The man jumped into a borrowed minivan and drove away when the deputy stopped to investigate.

The deputy chased the man up the North Freeway to West Airtex Boulevard, west to Ella Boulevard, south to Sam Houston Parkway, and west to Veterans Memorial Drive.

Then, deputies said the driver did a u-turn and drove back north to Greens Road near where the pursuit began.

According to deputies, the man tried to run over a deputy.

The deputy fired into the driver's side door of the van but did not hit the suspect.

The suspect jumped out of the van and tried to run, and a second deputy deployed his Taser.

The man was arrested and is now facing felony evading charges.
