Man survives wreck into ditch, hit by another car on the road in Sugar Land

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A driver who lost control and crashed into a ditch in Sugar Land was hit by a car when he walked onto the roadway Saturday night. 

According to the Texas Highway Patrol, a 45-year-old man was driving his pickup northbound on Gaines Road near Jessie Parker Road when he lost control and the vehicle went into a ditch on the side of the road. 

The man exited the truck unharmed and walked onto the roadway where he was hit by a car, said authorities. 

Life flight transported him to the Memorial Hermann Texas Trauma Institute in serious but stable condition. 

Authorities said the driver of the car stopped and waited for police. No charges are expected and alcohol was not a factor in this accident.
