Hospital employee arrested for sexually assaulting patient

HOUSTON – An employee of Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a patient at the hospital last summer.

The Humble Police Department received a call about a sexual assault at the hospital last June 25.

The victim said she was sexually assaulted by an employee while she was being treated as a patient.

According to court documents, the victim said a nurse, later identified as Brandon Faunce, 45, entered her hospital room after her boyfriend had left. She said Faunce gave her a pill that disabled her to talk, limited her movement, but she said she was conscious and able to see what was happening in the room.

According to court documents, once the pill's effects began to set in, Faunce began to touch the victim, and himself, inappropriately.

During the investigation, the victim identified Faunce out of a six-photo lineup.

Humble police arrested Faunce and charged him with sexual assault. He is being held in Harris County Jail on $100,000 bond.

He has been suspended by the hospital.

A man who answered at Faunce's home said, "everyone is innocent until proven guilty."
