High winds cause power outages throughout Houston

HOUSTON – Winds gusts of 25 to 30 mph have been recorded already Sunday morning ahead of the sustained wind speeds that are expected at those levels this afternoon.

There is a wind advisory until 5 p.m. with a gale warning in effect until 9 p.m. In the meantime, there's plenty of sunshine to enjoy with temps about 8-10 degrees cooler than Saturday's highs.

We are still expecting highs near 70 for the next two days before increasing toward 80 on Tuesday ahead of a strong front.

Temps behind the mid-week front will drop toward seasonal highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s and upper 30s. There will only be  very slight rain chances during the ten-day forecast. Those chances are 20% at best on Wednesday and Saturday.
