3 people shot during attempted robbery, police say

HOUSTON – Three people were shot during a disturbance at an apartment on Friday, according to police.

Police said two men and a woman forced their way into a couple's apartment at 7777 Katy Freeway around 8 p.m.

The two men pulled guns on the couple, but the man inside the residence also had a gun, so all three men began shooting at each other, authorities said. 

The two would-be robbers and the resident's girlfriend were shot. All three were taken to the hospital. 

The woman who came with the would-be robbers was taken into custody, according to officials. 

Police said it is unclear what the three people were attempting to steal. 

The conditions of the three people in the hospital is unknown at this point.
