Four Seasons completes big makeover for Super Bowl LI

HOUSTON – With less than two weeks until Super Bowl LI, businesses in downtown Houston are bracing for an influx of football fans.

Many of them have spent large sums of money to prepare for large crowds and the potential for a surge of new business, and one of Houston's most prominent downtown hotels got a big makeover just in time for the big game.

"Last January when we sat down (to discuss the renovation), we said we needed to be done by mid-January because Houston was going to be on the world stage,” Four Seasons general manager Tom Segesta said.

Phase II of the hotel’s year-long, multimillion-dollar renovation project is nearly complete -- the Four Seasons already completed extensive renovations on the spa and fitness center last April.

A centerpiece of the new look is a first-of-its-kind TopGolf indoor simulator, available to be rented for parties and gatherings.

The hotel also boasts a newly designed bourbon bar and lobby.

The changes could not have come at a better time.

"We have 468 rooms and they're all booked (on Super Bowl week) with people that are excited to come see Houston,” Segesta said. “And as a city, we're just excited to show our Texas hospitality off to everybody coming from all over the world."
