HOUSTON - A Cy-Fair ISD teacher has been terminated after she allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Melanie Elizabeth Mobley, 26, was charged with indecency with a child in July, and an additional charge of improper relationship with a student was filed.  On Wednesday, Mobley received deferred adjudication and was sentenced to four years probation for improper relationship with child.

The details surrounding the allegations have not been released, but Cy-Fair Independent School District officials released the following statement.

"Due to the serious nature of the allegation, the teacher was immediately removed from the campus in May, 2015 and is no longer an employee. We will continue to  cooperate fully with law enforcement. Behavior that compromises student trust will not be tolerated."

Mobley's bond was set at $30,000.
