Both sides rest in 'Money Mike' teen sex assault trial

HOUSTON – Both the state and defense rested in the 'Money Mike' sex assault trial in Galveston County Friday afternoon.

The entire day Friday the state's star witness, a teenage girl, was on stand answering questions about the case of Michael McIntosh.

The girl is accused of luring other teen girls to the 63-year-old McIntosh's Friendswood home back in the summer of 2013. Police say as many as five girls were involved in the private prostitution ring.

They are accused of performing sex acts for cash, as much as much $800 a visit.

McIntosh never took the stand to speak for himself.

On Thursday, the girl, now 18, who was 16 at the time, said she never forced anyone to go over to Mike McIntosh's Friendswood home.

Police say in the summer of 2013, teen girls, as many as five, would go to McIntosh's home and have sex with him in exchange for cash. Many of the girls have taken the stand this week and said they went to his home on several occasions to get money, and they walked away with thousands of dollars.

The girls said they would use the money to buy food, gas, and even car insurance. At one point, the star witness was charged with prostitution but those charges were later dropped.

Closing arguments will begin Tuesday morning.

If convicted, McIntosh could face up to 20 years behind bars.
