Boy, 16, dies after being shot in head in East Houston, police say
HOUSTON – A 16-year-old boy was killed Sunday afternoon when he was shot in the head in East Houston, police said.
The incident was reported at 12:25 p.m. at Clayton Homes Apartments in the 1900 block of Runnels Street.
Police said Elia Ndayisenga, 16, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said no weapon was found initially, but after questioning several other teens who were nearby, officials recovered a pistol at the scene.
Police said the shooting is being investigated.
No arrests have been made.
