Armed, masked thieves pistol whip, shoot 2 in grocery store robbery

HOUSTON – Harris County deputies are still looking for masked, armed robbers who injured two people around 9 a.m. Monday at the Circle S Food Store in the 9100 block of Windfern Road.

Investigators said the two thieves pistol whipped a customer and shot a clerk, who was lying on the floor, in the backside. After taking cash from the register, the crooks left the store in a light blue Dodge four-door pickup, police said.

There is security video at the store but it is not clear if the cameras recorded the suspects leaving the scene.

One man said he knows those involved.

"Behind the counter he got shot in the buttocks another friend of ours got hit in the head, pistol whipped on the way out."

Both injured men were taken to an area hospital. They are expected to be OK.
