Driver killed after car catches fire in E Houston, police say

A driver was killed in a fiery crash in east Houston, police said.

Investigators said the driver slammed into a telephone pole around 4:30 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Clinton Drive and Hirsch Road.

The car caught fire and the driver was found dead inside the car, police said.

Police said they are working to learn more about the crash.
