Dozens arrested in prostitution bust

HOUSTON – A two month-long prostitution bust has led to the arrests of 26 men in Houston.

Police said the men attempted to buy sex in exchange for money. The initiative took place from March to May near the 2400 block of Gould near Stratton and the 3200 block of Telephone Road after complaints about prostitution in the areas.

Investigators in the Houston Police Department Vice Division and officers from the HPD Southeast Patrol Differential Response Team conducted the initiatives.

HPD said it hopes to lower the demand for sex trafficking involving underage and/or abused girls coerced into a life of prostitution.
