Deputy opens fire on robbery suspects after chase, officials say

HOUSTON – Three robbery suspects have been arrested after a police chase lead to a deputy involved shooting in northeast Harris County, according to deputies. 

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the suspects were wanted for seven to eight robberies that happened overnight.

A deputy spotted the vehicle of one of the suspected robbers and a chase began, deputies said.

"In the process of them pulling over the vehicle, one of the suspects came out of the vehicle with a pistol in his hand. He was ordered to drop the pistol and he did not,"  A spokesperson from the Harris County Sheriff's office said. "One deputy fired his weapon at the vehicle striking the vehicle, no other suspects were struck." 

The suspects gave up at the scene and were taken into custody. 

Deputies believe the three suspects are responsible for seven to eight robberies around Houston.
