Driver killed after slamming into back of 18-wheeler in north Houston

HOUSTON – One man was killed Friday in a crash involving a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler in north Houston, police said.

The crash was reported around 6:40 a.m. in the area of the 900 block of East Little York Road.

Police said the victim was driving a red Chevrolet pickup truck in the eastbound lane of the road when he slammed into the back of a white Mack truck that was stopped at a traffic light. 

The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene, police said 

Little York was shut down for hours after the crash.

Officers are investigating what caused the driver to crash into the 18-wheeler.
