Body found under Houston Ship Channel dock said to be missing teen

HOUSTON – A body found Thursday morning under a dock along the Houston Ship Channel is said to be that of a missing teenager.

Police were called to the scene in the 8900 block of Manchester near Texas Port Recycling at about 9:40 a.m. after someone reported seeing a body floating beneath a dock there.

Tucked underneath a pier, inaccessible to all but highly-skilled divers, police say the body was recovered in the murky waters of the ship channel recovered a body.

For the last two weeks, Antonio Saldivar's family has waited nervously for news. The 17-year-old mysteriously vanished Feb. 15th. His car curiously wrecked, abandoned 1.8 miles from where that body was recovered Thursday.

Saldivar was nowhere to be found and he'd disappeared without his shoes, his mother told us.

A spokesperson for the family told Local 2 they were notified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences late Thursday afternoon that the body was identified as Saldivar.
