Man killed in high-speed crash over bayou

HARRIS COUNTY – A man is dead after a dramatic high-speed crash that sent his truck flying over a bayou.

The accident happened on Cromwell at Shady in north Harris County around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the black Chevy truck blew through a stop sign, took out a guardrail, went airborne and cleared Halls Bayou before crashing on the other side.

The truck's driver died on the scene.  A passenger was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive. Deputies say neither man was wearing a seat belt.
