HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was found dead in a street beside his pickup truck Tuesday.
Two boys, ages 3 and 7, were in the vehicle with him.
The truck was parked in the middle of the street near the 11500 block of Kelly.
A neighbor told KPRC 2 he was startled when he heard what sounded like gunshots.
"I heard gunshots," neighbor Marc Gonzalez said. "First I heard one, 'Pow!' Then after that, 'Pow, pow, pow, pow!' I thought maybe it was just one of my pups pulling something or dropping something. Then I thought, 'That doesn't sound right.'"
He went outside to see what was happening, saw the truck but figured it was his neighbor's.
Investigators cordoned off the scene with yellow police tape and marked what appeared to be shell casings on the street.
