Bruno Mars performs for thousands at Club Nomadic Friday night

HOUSTON – Grammy Award-winner Bruno Mars performed for thousands Friday night at Club Nomadic.

"We were so excited when he announced his  tour in October but the fact that he'll be here this weekend we had to jump on that and get tickets,” said Lauren Gray who got to the line at 1 p.m. Friday.

Club Nomadic has been the most talked-about pop-up club for the Super Bowl 51 weekend.  Thursday night the club said more than 7,500 people showed up for the Chainsmokers and Sam Hunt.

Gray and her friend Bree Gilbert said they got there earlier because they knew more people were expected to show up Friday night.

“You know what, we are committed Bruno Mars. This is the party to be at for Super Bowl, best place to be at in town, we got the Heights, we got Bruno Mars, so we're like, We're going to get here early,'" said Gilbert.

The night kicked off with red carpet appearances by athletes and celebrities including Terry Bradshaw, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Bengal quarterback, Andy Dalton, who is from Katy.

The only complaint of the night was the same one from Thursday. People said the Uber lines to get home were extremely long, some people waited for hours just to find a ride.

“I was here last night actually, so Ubering at the end was a little crazy. So if you just kind of made your way away from the scene it wasn't as bad,” said Macy Osoria, who arrived to Nomadic at 4 p.m. with her father and boyfriend.

But all in all, club goers said it was worth it.

"He did a great job, this is my third time seeing him. He always puts on a great performance so I'd recommend anybody to go," one attendee said.

Taylor Swift will be headlining Saturday in an invite-only event. Then on Monday, crews will begin dismantling the temporary club.
