All-clear given after bomb threat prompts evacuation in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Authorities gave the all-clear Wednesday after a bomb threat at a building in The Woodlands prompted officials to evacuate the facility.

The bomb threat was reported just before 9 a.m. at a professional building at 17450 St. Lukes Way, which is next to St. Luke’s Health near Interstate 45 and College Park Drive.

A representative of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said someone left a note saying that they would blow up the building unless a ransom was paid. They said that note was found on the second floor of the building.

Police said the evacuation took longer than usual because patients were in the middle of treatments. They said they searched the four-story building from top to bottom and didn't find anything aside from the note.

"One of the tenants at the medical building received a note, exactly how they came to receive that note is still being investigated. The note was type written," Montgomery County Sheriff's Capt. Bryan Carlisle said.

Carlisle said the note was found on a printer and had specific instructions. Deputies said they are investigating and did not release details from the note.

The all-clear was given about 10:15 a.m.
