Barbecue restaurant goes up in flames in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON – Firefighters worked Saturday to put out flames from a three-alarm fire at Big Daddy BBQ on Highway 6 near Kieth Harrow.

Firefighters cleared the fire and investigators found the cause to be an electrical failure in the restaurant's marquee sign.

The fire was mainly in the front of the building and caused only minor smoke damage to the structure.

"The fire originated in the letter 'G' in Big Daddy's BBQ sign and has been ruled accidental/electrical," said public information officer, Rachel Moreno. "Investigators estimate approximately $1 million in damages from the fire, water, and business interruption."
