As Seen on TV Tuesday: Does Lazer Bond really work?

Fix anything in seconds. That's the claim from the makers of Lazer Bond. The commercial  shows Lazer Bond repairing jewelry, glass and even leaking pipes in 3 seconds. They say it holds tighter than super glue without the mess. The product is billed as plastic adhesive that hardens "strong as a rock" when you shine a UV light on it for 3 to 8 seconds.

Consumer expert Amy Davis tried Lazer Bond on a broken wine glass stem, a cracked coffee mug and a broken plastic hanger. The cracked mug didn't spring a leak after she sealed it with the product. While Lazer Bond initially seemed to hold the cracked wine glass stem together, but it fell apart again about two hours later. But the final test was the nail in the coffin for Lazer Bond.

The plastic hanger didn't even hold together long enough for Davis to try and hang a coat on it. It broke apart when she was just holding it in her hand.
