Evacuation lifted at multiple businesses after gas leak in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – An evacuation was lifted for multiple businesses after a gas leak in The Woodlands, according to fire officials.

Crews secured the leak shortly after 1:45 p.m.

The leak was first reported around 10:40 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Millbend Thursday.

According to The Woodlands Fire Department, contractors hit a 4-inch gas line and evacuated the area.

Businesses evacuated were the south part of the Grogans Mill Shopping Center and a day care that included 30 children.

All that were evacuated went to the Shell Learning Center on the other side of the parking lot and also took shelter the Woodlands Resort.

Roads were reopened, and crews also evacuated a nearby apartment complex.

No one was injured.
