Arrest made in fatal southeast Houston shooting

Anthony Thomas, 31, killed

HOUSTON – Police said they have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a man in southeast Houston last month.

The shooting was reported the night of July 31, near the intersection of Madrid Street and Yellowstone Boulevard.

According to Houston police, 31-year-old Anthony Thomas was found dead at the scene.

Police said that on Aug. 5 they arrested 22-year-old Demarcus West in connection with the case.

Investigators said they believe Thomas got into a fight with someone, and that person shot him several times and ran away.

West was charged with murder, police said.
