Houston officers save Christmas after grandmother's home burglarized

HOUSTON – Officers showed their holiday spirit when they came to the rescue and saved Christmas for one Houston grandmother.

According to a Facebook post from the Houston Police Officers' Union, officers at the Westside station responded to a burglary call. It turned out the thieves stole presents from underneath the woman's Christmas tree, which she had purchased for her grandson.

The grandmother told officers that she had spent all of her available money on those gifts and would not be able to replace them.

After hearing this, the officers pooled their money and purchased a gift card for the grandmother, so she could replace the presents.
