FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – An investigation is underway after an altercation between a Lamar Consolidated Independent School District school bus driver and the students on that bus. The driver is accused of pulling out a knife.
It happened near Beasley in Fort Bend County.
A district spokesperson told KPRC 2 it all started when the bus driver asked three students on the bus if they would move seats. Three male students then tackled and struck the bus driver, the district said. There was an altercation and the driver reportedly pulled out a pocket knife. The knife was not used.
KPRC 2 has learned that two of the students attend the alternative learning center in Rosenberg and one of the students is in junior high school.
In a statement, Lamar CISD said, "We're extremely disappointed to see this type of behavior from all involved. It's not representative of our school district or our students. Violence is never the answer. We will review the incident and act appropriately."
The incident remains under investigation by the district. It's unclear if anything will happen to the students and the bus driver.
