All northbound SW Freeway lanes reopen near BW 8 after vehicle fire

HOUSTON – A car fire had all lanes of traffic blocked off on the Southwest Freeway near Beltway 8 on Monday.

The one-vehicle incident started around 3:18 p.m., according to the Houston TranStar website.

The freeway was reopened around 4:10 p.m.

Firefighters could be seen extinguishing the fire on the TranStar cameras.

All northbound lanes were blocked off while officials cleaned up.
