Two cars and a fire truck were involved in an accident on 59 Southwest Freeway southbound at Gessner Road early Sunday morning.
The first accident occurred around 3 a.m. and the Houston Fire Department responded, according to officials.
As the fire truck's crew was helping clean the debris from the first accident a person driving toward the accident fell asleep at the wheel and hit the fire truck on the scene, officials said.
There were no injuries as a result of the accidents.
59 Southwest Freeway southbound was shut down at 3 a.m. Sunday and re-opened at 7 a.m.
