HOUSTON – The trailer for Tupac’s biopic “All Eyez on Me” has been released and while some fans are eager to see it, others are worried it might not live up to the hype.

The minute-long trailer has left an impression on Tupac fans desperate for more. The movie is expected to cover the life of the rap icon, and since the biopics of rapper Biggie and N.W.A., the anticipation of the film is at its height.

However, some fans are concerned about the outcome of the film and that his story won't be properly told due to other similar biopics that didn't do so well.

Several local DJ's weighed in on the film, including 93.7 The Beat's Devi Brown and Jazmine Lofton, also known as DJ FourPointOhh.

“Tupac is one of the biggest icons the world has ever seen, not to mention he’s my personal favorite artist of all-time,” said Devi Brown, on air personality for 93.7 The Beat. “When I heard they were doing a movie, I was so scared they’d get it wrong. But from the looks of this trailer it’s going to be epic, watching it gave me chills!”

"Everybody lives for a biopic especially when it's about one of the greatest," said DJ SupaStar, on air DJ for 93.7 The Beat. "Tupac will forever be a symbolic figure in the hip-hop culture and I believe people will be excited about this movie. I can't wait."

“I think that the movie is going to be good and very interesting. It will be a top movie to put next to ‘Straight Outta Compton’,” said  DJ FourPointOhh. “The movie isn’t going to just be for his music but for the culture of African-Americans and what we are still going through.” You can catch DJ FourPointOhh every Sunday at Fox Hollow Houston.

Fans have already gone to the film's Instagram page, @AllEyezMovie, to share their thoughts and opinions on the movie. Some people said that Demetrius Shipp Jr., who is set to play Tupac, doesn’t look like the rapper and that they were worried about the overall casting.

Instagram user @jocelyn_renae wrote, “I’m still scared. Straight Outta Compton was so well casted, and the picture was great. I don’t want to see it looking like a Lifetime movie. My love for him won’t allow it.”

“Some of y'all need to calm down. Let the producers and directors do their thing, obliviously they gonna release the trailer! This is gonna be the biggest movie ever, so let them do their thing,” said Instagram user @Lawrenceagyei.

Narration from the late Afeni Shakur, Tupac’s mother, also makes the clip more intense as she is heard in the trailer saying, “Like all black men, you have a bullseye on your back. They are going to give you the tools you need to destroy yourself.”

Afeni served as the executive producer of the film before her death in early May alongside Benny Boom, who is the director.

"All Eyez On Me" is set to be released on November 11, 2016, two months after the 20th anniversary of Tupac’s death.
