7 people injured when trailer catches fire in Katy

KATY, Texas – Six people were injured Friday evening when they tried to rescue someone trapped in a burning trailer at a Katy resort.

The fire happened at the Katy Lake RV Resort in the 20000 block of Morton Road.

Fire officials said when they arrived on the scene, neighbors were trying to rescue the trapped person.

According to fire officials, two firefighters rushed into the trailer and pulled the victim out. That person was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital downtown, where they were listed in critical condition, fire officials said.

The six others who tried to rescue the victim were all treated for minor cuts and burns, according to fire officials.
