Suspect arrested in connection with park shooting in northeast Houston

HOUSTON – A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in northeast Houston.

Two men were in critical condition after the shooting on Friday.

Kedrine Lavel Young, 25, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Houston homicide detectives said four people were shot at 4:50 p.m. in the 6900 block of Apache Street.

Police said a group of people were fighting Houston Gardens park when a man pulled out a gun and started firing.

Donavin Williams, 28, and Alfred Breedlove, 28, were taken to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital in critical condition, police said. Williams was transferred to Ben Taub General Hospital.

Two other victims, Denarik Gray, 26, and Dominique Belle, 26, were also taken to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital in a private vehicle. Both are expected to survive their injuries, according to police.

Young was arrested Monday without incident, police said.
