Montgomery County sheriff deputies said the father called 911 from Harris County to report that his son, Oscar Salazar, 20, had been shot several times.

Deputies said witnesses told them Nelson Segobia came home and walked into the bedroom quietly.

Witnesses told officials they heard several gunshots and Segobia then walked out the backdoor, threatening to shoot them if they were in his way, deputies said.

Segobia fled in a green Dodge pickup, but was later caught by a state trooper on FM 1488 at an Exxon station, deputies said.

Segobia and another passenger were taken into custody.

Salazar was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deadly shooting is under investigation.
