2 hospitalized after SW Houston drive-by shooting, police say

HOUSTON – Two people are in the hospital after a gunman fired several shots into their vehicle Sunday in southwest Houston, police said.

The shooting was reported at 2:20 p.m. in the 9900 block of Murray Brook Drive.

Houston police said the victims, Irvin Gonzales, 23, and Reina Castellon, 23, were in the vehicle on South Braeswood when a someone in another vehicle pulled beside them and fired several shots into the victims' vehicle.

Police said the shooter fled the scene.

Gonzales and Castellon drove to Murray Drive and called police.

Both victims were taken to Ben Taub Hospital. Police said Gonzales is in critical condition.

No description of the accused shooter or the vehicle were released.
