18-wheeler fire cause major traffic delay on North Freeway

HOUSTON – Drivers were stuck in traffic for hours on the North Freeway after an 18-wheeler caught on fire Sunday afternoon.

The Houston Fire Department responded to the incident at 12:25 p.m. on Interstate 45 northbound near West Mt. Houston Road.

All main lanes were blocked until the fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Traffic was cleared around 4:30 p.m.
