Teen shot in stomach at Pasadena apartment

PASADENA, Texas – A 16-year-old was taken by Life Flight to Texas Children's Hospital overnight Wednesday after he was shot in the stomach at an apartment complex in Pasadena, officers said. 

The shooting was reported around 11 p.m. in the 4800 block of Sycamore Avenue. Officers said a black male knocked on an apartment door and claimed that his car had been hit in the parking lot. 

The father of the victim said he opened the door to talk to the who man pointed a gun at him and forced his way into the apartment. 

The man threatened to shoot the family dog, and the victim's father started to struggle with the man trying to take the gun from him. 

The victim's father said he shoved him outside and the gun went off, ricocheted off the living room floor and struck the teen. 

The accused assailant n a green four-door Buick.

The victim's parents said the bullet is lodged behind his liver and missed all major organs. He is expected to survive.
