GALVESTON – You'll want to check your freezers after a Galveston seafood company announced a recall for at least seven different shrimp products sold at Houston-area grocery stores.
The precautionary voluntary recall involves 35,000 pounds of shrimp, according to the Galveston Shrimp Company.
The prepackaged bags of Texas Wild Brand Shrimp products are sold at HEB stores across Texas.
Officials with the shrimp company say an HEB store manager found a nail inside a bag of shrimp when he was inspecting cases of the product. He notified the company and the recall was issued.
The bags of shrimp affected by the recall are raw, not precooked.
