Worker accused of stealing from Rice University locker room, not registering as sex offender

HOUSTON – The employee of a company contracted to work at Rice University has been charged after being accused of stealing a PlayStation and failing to register as a sex offender, according to court records.

Reginald Dwayne Davis, 29, has been charged with failure to comply with sexual registration require.

On Sept. 30, a Rice University police officer responded to a report of a PlayStation being stolen from the Tudor Fieldhouse men's basketball locker room on campus, according to court documents. School officials reported the PlayStation stolen on Sept. 28, according to court records.

After reviewing surveillance video, police identified Davis as the suspect, court records revealed.

Davis was a subcontractor employed by TMB Associates LLC and assigned to work at Rice University athletic department September 2016, according to court records. 

It was later discovered Davis failed to register as a sex offender for two years after he was charged with indecency-child exposure in June 2010 in Harris County, according to court records. Davis failed to disclose he was employed at the Rice University campus as a subcontractor, according to court records.

A warrant for Davis' arrest has been issued.
