March Madness may cost employers $4 billion

March Madness gets underway this week.

And while the NCAA tournament is popular with workers, it’s costing employers big time. According to outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas, March Madness could cost companies an estimated $4 billion in lost productivity.

The firm estimated the number of workers participating in tournament pools, multiplied by the time needed to fill out a bracket and watch parts of the games later this week.
